Appeal to Late Application

If you did not submit your application for enrollment to us during the normal filing period of November 1–30, please explain in this appeal why you missed the filing deadline and why our appeal committee should allow your late application. If you are a current UC applicant who intended to add UCI as a campus choice after November 30, please indicate in this appeal your current application ID (CPID) in your brief summary. Submission of this appeal does not guarantee your admission to UCI. Transfers: Must meet UCI major preparation requirements to be considered for admission into UCI.

Please include the following:

Letter of appeal clearly stating new or compelling reason for appeal consideration, written and signed by the applicant
All high school and college transcripts
Optional supporting documentation (e.g., exam scores such as AP/IB/A-level exams with passing scores, or if applicable any exam results used to meet English proficiency; letters of recommendation are not considered by the appeal committee)

Once our office receives your appeal, you should receive written/electronic notification regarding your status within four to six weeks.

This major is only available to on-time fall applicants, as the major requires an audition in late January/early February. If this major is still of interest to you, then we advise you to select an Alternate Major that is outside of this program.

Interested applicants must apply to the Drama major; new students are not admitted directly into this major. Only admitted students may audition for this major after completing at least one quarter of the Music Theatre Workshop Level III course at UCI.

This major is only available to fall applicants (First-year Freshman & Transfers), as the major is limited and highly selective. We advise you to select an Alternate Major that is outside of this program.

Transfer applicants may only take up to 2 of the 13 major required courses during the summer prior to the Fall intended term.

First-Year applicants must complete four years of high school mathematics through pre-calculus or math analysis. In addition, for the Computer Science & Engineering major, freshman applicants are advised to have completed one year each of chemistry and physics. That preparation, along with honors courses and advanced placement courses, is fundamental to success in the program. We advise you to select an Alternate Major that is outside of these programs.

The School of Social Ecology B.A. in Psychological Science provides students a foundation to pursue graduate work in psychology, or to find employment after graduation in the areas of public health, health services, human resources, marketing, social work, counseling, law, education, and related fields. The major focuses on determinants of human health, well-being, and functioning in a broad range of developmental, social, cultural, and environmental contexts.
The School of Social Sciences B.S. in Psychology incorporates more science content, as the physical and biological sciences play a critical role in deeper study of the mind and brain.
The School of Social Sciences B.S. in Cognitive Sciences is structured to provide students with a challenging introduction to the broad field of Cognitive Sciences that is strongly grounded in theory emphasizing experimental and computational methods. To ensure an intellectually coherent experience, students in the major are able to choose courses from areas including: (a) Cognitive Neuroscience; (b) Experimental Psychology–Sensation, Perception, Attention, and Memory; (c) Language Science; and (d) Computational Cognitive Science.
